Angels and FedEx

Category: PersonalDNA @ 7:49 pm
Do you believe in angels? I do. I believe in angels without wings. They are our friends who offers to help even without being asked, or simply strangers who help. My Dad is running out of his medicines for diabetes. He's in Canada, and he asked me to ship it to him. Thing is, before FedEx accepts the package, I need to have a prescription. Sounds easy enough, but the thing is, my Dad's doctor is in a province three hours away. I definitely am not going to travel that far! That's when one of the regular angels in my life offered to solve the problem. I just had to wait till she gets the prescription from the doctor. It might be yet tomorrow or Monday. But I am running out of time. My Dad needed his medicines yesterday. So I figured, it's worth a try to go to a doctor, pay a consultation fee, and just ask for a prescription. I mean, it's not like I am asking prescription for prohibited drugs! Like, yeah, right - my Dad, the addict?! No way! So I went to Capitol Medical Center, and headed straight to the reception desk. There was a smiling girl behind the counter, and a guy standing, talking on the phone. I asked for an oncologist (I don't even know what that is - my sister just told me). Bad luck - all their their 'oncos' are not in their clinics today. I guess my face fell because the voice I heard, coming from the man who was talking on the phone, said, "What's the matter?" I said, "I need a prescription so I can ship my Dad's medicine to him." Then, it was like I saw wings and halo when he got a prescription pad from his white jacket and asked for a pen from the girl. "What is the medicine?" I showed him the meds, and the rest is history. Now, the medicines are on the way to Canada, complete with doctor's prescription, signed by Dr. Gabby de Leon.
